The Afshar Group has been active in real estate, public relations, & public speaking since 1991. In 2007, principles, Shahriar Afshar & Arash Afshar, reorganized the firm to concentrate on their top priority issues & projects.

Shahriar Afshar Biography

Shahriar Afshar is a 15-year professional in the real estate and Iranian-American communities. After moving to San Diego, CA with his family in 1979, Afshar attended San Diego State University and obtained his BS in Real Estate Finance (1991) & Master of Public Administration (1999). After several positions in local government and real estate asset management, he established the Afshar Group.

As a community leader, Afshar established the Iranian Trade Association to promote Iranian American & US investor interests with Iran. His international efforts attracted the sponsorship of US Fortune 100 companies such as Exxon-Mobil, General Motors, & Caterpillar. Through his tireless campaign, in 1999, the US reestablished a small trading relationship with Iran that is now valued at over $240 million a year. Afshar is also a co-founder of the Iranian-American Democrats of San Diego as well as a contributing member of several other Iranian-American organizations.

Afshar is a dynamic communicator, recognized for his innovative & inspirational style. He has rallied audiences to his message from San Diego to Washington, DC & London, UK. He has presented at professional forums with US Members of Congress, foreign dignitaries, & the mainstream public. He has written and appeared at dozens of mainstream & major media outlets from the BBC to the Wall Street Journal.

Arash Afshar Bio
Arash Afshar is a creative marketing professional with over 10 years of experience in both the public and the private sector. Since 2006, he has been serving as the Afshar Group's Vice President of Marketing & Events Services.

Afshar has been a multi-state licensed insurance agent for GEICO Direct and developed cutting edge marketing campaigns for the San Diego Unified Port District's Harbor Police recruitment campaign. Afshar's creative corporate logos, professional designs, marketing campaigns, and branding services have launched dozens of local businesses & startups including The Convivum and Nexphase Group, Inc.

Currently, he also serves as a contract Public Relations and Event consultant for Whiskey Girl, a popular restaurant and nightclub in downtown San Diego. Afshar I also enjoys community service and is the National Public Relations Director for Gamma Phi Epsilon Multi-Cultural Fraternity as well as a co-founder of the Iranian-American Democrats of San Diego.

Afshar has a BA Degree in Art with emphasis in Multimedia & Graphic Design from San Diego State University.
